I am Brother Chuck Barnes, Sr., and I am a Missionary Evangelist/Church Planter working in the State of Maine along with my wife Barbie and daughter Kimberly.
My wife and I both grew up in Windsor, Maine, attending the same grade school and Baptist church. We married in 1976 just prior to my enlistment in the United States Air Force. While in the military I was invited to a fundamental Baptist church where I heard the clear gospel and received Jesus Christ as my personal Saviour in September of 1978. I was baptized by immersion several weeks later and was called to preach in the late fall of 1979 and preached my first message at the Anchorage Rescue Mission, Anchorage, Alaska, on January 12, 1980. My wife was saved as a little girl and after my conversion she rededicated her life to God’s service.
After the military, I attended Bible College and then returned to Maine where I became an Assistant Pastor and then planted a church in a small town. I went on to help another church and then reopened a church that had been disbanded for seven years and this is where the Lord has allowed me to continue for the past 18 years. We have seen many souls saved, helped plant another church, seen young people go off to Bible college for training, seen God raise up a man that heads up the Northeast Amazing Grace Missions, which, in 2011, saw 197 decisions at 14 fairs with 65,000 gospel tracts passed out, and have financially supported 12 missionaries.
Now I believe the Lord is leading us on to raise the necessary support to plant and strengthen more churches here in Maine.
